1000M Sales Center

An Interactive Multimedia Sales Center for 1000M Luxury Residences

Award-winning architectural and design company, PJR, approached our Media & Technology team to develop the technology and tools for a high-end residential sales center in Chicago. Once completed, the designated space – initially a brick shell located next door to the planned high-rise community – would allow prospective buyers to explore floor plans, amenities, and design features with a high level of detail and sophistication.

The Challenge

Part of the vision for the space was a giant video wall, melding multiple 4K screens together. The biggest challenge in this project was designing that interactive in such a way that it would work for anyone who walked through the door, whether they were a realtor working with a client, or a client on their own. Because the sales center featured large exterior windows, it was also important for the content on the screen to be enticing to passersby.

Strategy

To show the client the effectiveness of an oversized monitor wall, we built a full-size demonstration of the experience in our studio. This allowed us to take floor plans designed by PJR and determine how to structure the content for an easy, intuitive flow that would amplify engagement, anticipate prospects’ questions, and provide a great user experience by minimizing text and maximizing compelling visuals.

Design

PJR provided the layout of the space, along with essential details, floorplans, and photography. We were then tasked with organizing the content and making it logical and intuitive to navigate dozens of floorplan options and amenities. Guests could explore the neighborhood, discover which amenities were located on which floor, and even see the panoramic views from each unit. The goal was for every media interactive to build on the last, providing visitors with a multi-layered sneak preview of what it would be like to live at 1000M before construction had even begun.

Production

While the large video wall needed to be user-friendly to both agents and buyers with varying degrees of technological expertise, the content itself served different functions, as well. We programmed and scheduled different content for different times of day, so after hours onlookers would still get an enticing sneak preview through the windows. Although this made for a highly complex system on the back end, we designed it to be straightforward and simple for users on the front end. Additionally, our team has provided ongoing training and support to ensure seamless operation.
